Even Sonic got that right.ġ1: One of the biggest problems is that sometimes the spike placement can be outright dickish. Why can’t you just slide by pressing down on the Control Pad? That’d be quicker and smoother. That’s sloppy.ġ0: the slide is unintuitively on the jump button. No, they’re worse, because you can only move in 2 directions and the slide is your only hope of moving faster. They’re just as bad as the soldiers from A Link to the Past. Even the common Metool is annoying since it’s invincible unless it peeks out to fire three projectiles in different directions that can hit you surprisingly easily.Ĩ: Occasionally, there’s enemies that have gigantic sprites and hitboxes, like the jumping leopards, and because of that, you’d barely have enough time to avoid a second hit from them after their first because you’re still inside of their sprite when you’re able to be hurt again, so you feel helpless. Sometimes they show up more than once in the same LEVEL! Why can’t I just walk past them like every other enemy?! They don’t have boss music!ĥ: The charging sound is really annoying and you’ll be constantly hearing it.Ħ: Once you fire a charge shot, you gotta charge up all over again and do it again, so even with the charge shots, if they don’t one-shot the enemy, it still takes forever to kill them.ħ: There’s annoying enemies that you can really despise like the one that spins these blades in front of it that SOMEHOW block your shots, so you have to constantly jump over their projectile and shot and wait an eternity to be able to get just one charge shot in, and they’re blocking the only way forwards. Fuck the sub-bosses in 4 and 6 by the way! Worthless HP Sponges that pad out the game, especially when all you have is the default weapon. If you’re playing the 3DS version, and have the automatic fire button pressed, it won’t let you charge up, and it’s unintuitive that you can still charge with the second shoot button that apparently exists. Like the fish in the spring stage.Ģ: Castlevania Deaths are all over the place.ģ: Enemies take too long to kill, slowing down the pacing of the game.Ĥ: This was even more of a problem when the charge-shot was introduced, as they make enemies beefy to force you to use the charge-shot. ![]() Sometimes it feels like it’s impossible to not get hit because of where they are, like right at the edge of a ledge when they’re firing projectiles, or worse, they can repeatedly knock you into the pits when they jump up all of a sudden out of nowhere. ![]() There’s a difference between hating it in general and hating merely PLAYING it for yourself.ġ: Cheap enemy placement. I love watching playthroughs of Mega Man games, I love seeing the world of ZX and Legends. I’ve beaten Zelda 2, Sonic 2 on the Master System, and the 3 Donkey Kong Country games.
